Concept Art- Shoin, Audience Hall

Part of the Edo period inspired series. Visually development for the scene was a challenge as the perspective as well as the lighting was more prevalent within the scene. As each wall was more open allowing light to bounce around the Hall, I had to keep in mind how colours would be affected by them alongside the shadows. This was definitely one of the more challenging pieces within the series with the details that were inspired from Korean and Japanese architecture; with accents of Chinese zodiac patterns for the sliding doors.
